Crazy for Cupcakes and Awning cards!

Stampin Up convention open house 001   Stampin Up convention open house 002  This is one of the cards that we made at our hostess club lastnight! I'm becoming addicted to these awning cards and as I look through the catalog I find all kinds of stamps that could be put in a store window- flowers, coffee cups, beer mugs, cakes, etc. I happen to use Crazy For Cupcakes for this card.

I used the Color Coach to come up with the colors- not that it is an unusual combo- but with all the new colors in our line- it helps me to remember that we have a lot to work with! This one uses Baja Breeze, Pink Pirouette, and Early Espresso

These awning cards are so easy to do-

Here are the measurements:

Awning:  4-1/4" x 2", score at 3/8" & 1-1/4"
Shelf:  4-1/4" x 3-1/4", score at 2-1/4"

I used Pink Pirouette for the awning and then punch out Baja Breeze with the Word Window Punch and taped them onto the awning- make sure you tape from one end to the other so that when your bend your card at the score lines the punched pieces stay attached.

I just used a piece of Whisper White card stock cut at 4 1/4 X 11 and scored at 5 1/2 for the card base. After I scored by shelf piece I laid it on the base and lightly drew a line with pencil where the stamped images would need to be placed. I stamped and then erased the pencil mark. I colored the images with our markers and added a little dazzling diamonds glitter with a glue pen- if you click on the smaller picture you can see the glitter better.

If you have questions or would like me to come and show you and your friends how to make this card- contact me by phone 446-1103 or email: Your friends would enjoy an evening out and get to go home with a completed card.
