Yesterday was one of those days were I was really productive in my stamp room~ lots of typing, editing, fixing, etc. but not a lot of stamping! Sometimes I just need a quick project to get me back to why I love this business. I spend quite a bit of time prepping classes, workshops, and other things and I sometimes feel like I lack the time to stamp just for the fun of it.
So yesterday when I ran to the post office to pick up my mail~ I was so happy to see that bright orange box! My Paper Pumpkin was here~ this means I can sit down and make a quick project that someone else has designed and planned! I think that is why I love it so much~ and this month's project is perfect and adorable.
Sometimes when the kit arrives I follow the instructions and produce exactly what the kit was intended for and other times I take the contents of the kit and make my own project~ this month I did a little of each.
I absolutely love the star garland that came with this kit~ I wish I could buy more of it! But thankfully Stampin' Up! threw some extra in the box so I was able to make a couple of other cards with it too.
While I was making the first card, I began to think of other things I could do with this kit. With that adorable star garland this kit was screaming to become a scrapbook page~ so I got out a peice of Real Red cardstock and began to create.
I cut one of the card bases in half and then cut out the centers of each so I could use the pieces for other embellishments. The star garland makes the page~ and after I finished I thought if I had used a Night of Navy base it would be a great 4th of July page!
This was a fun kit and I enjoyed playing with it~ I was only bummed that all my star garland has been used up~ I love it that much!
Enjoy the Day!
